Grow Up Football Camps for Kids

GROW UP Chiangmai Football Camp logo

Football is a hot topic in Thailand and it’s one of the most searched sports areas in our website! For parents who are looking to let your kids release some energy outside the house, a football academy is the perfect outlet. Not only do your little ones get to learn the proper football techniques of kicking a ball or dribbling but for aspiring football players these academies can help them improve their skills and reach their full potential.

Sports can provide a child with various positive outcomes such as confidence, self esteem, friendship, imagination and creating a healthy lifestyle. The impact of sport influences children in many ways and can even support brain nourishment, resulting in an increase in concentration. The way children interact with others in sport can mould their leadership skills for the future.

Grow Up football camp was established because football is more than just a sport. The underlying concept is that for a person to grow, they must develop not only physically but also in other aspects such as social, emotional, and mental development. Thus, besides being a popular sport in Thailand, football also serves as a medium for comprehensive growth. Our team of coaches, who are teachers at international schools, saw an opportunity during school breaks to help foster children’s development. This led to the creation of GrowUp football camp, which has now been running for two years.

Focusing on learning through play, we start by making children enjoy football, eventually leading them to love and appreciate the sport. With an indoor football field, children can learn and play football all day. The training equipment is fully equipped, and there is a team of over six experienced coaches available each week. Additionally, there is an air-conditioned room for children to cool off during breaks, where they can play board games or relax as they wish.

Developing Skills

Grow Up Football is a positive, entertaining pre-school football programme delivered in a responsive environment, with the aid of our encouraging and welcoming coaches. Classes start from 5-13 year olds. Their aim is to ‘make certain that every child who plays a part in their camps not only learnt new skills, but most importantly has fun!

For 2 to 3 year olds it’s a perfect introduction to football. Where children can start to learn the game through fun orientated games involving specific actions and movements which enable children to gain greater bodily control. In turn this helps to improve their balance, coordination and gross motor skills.
Children and parents together enjoy goal scoring opportunities, as they learn to strike stationary and moving balls.

Refining Skills

Grow Up provide an exciting, safe learning environment where a child will be encouraged to move from parent-supported participation, to active, independent interaction. As children grow and gain both physical and social confidence they refine their skills of ball control, first touch play and then positioning are all simple skills that over time will become second nature. Friendly games are played to enable ball skills via directional dribbling and striking.

Older kids will follow a coaching methodolodgy with structured training sessions to encourage freedom and confidence to attack 1v1. Development of ball mastery, dribbling and controlled passing give players a foundation for small sided games. The team play regular friendly matches between other small local clubs to encourage game performance skills.
