Best Places to see Christmas Lights in Chiang Mai

Best Places to see Christmas Lights in Chiang Mai

Christmas and the end of the year is just around the corner, the weather will start to turn cooler and Chiang Mai takes on an air of festive excitement as the streets and shopping malls are turned into a magical land of twinkly lights and Christmas installations. Although Thailand is a Buddhist country, they plunge themselves into Christmas in a big way and it’s a wonderful time of the year for bringing everyone together.

As alway the shopping malls choose their festive theme and the competition is on to see who will have the tallest tree, the most popular lights or the most creative displays. This year in particular Christmas was upon us earlier than usual and at one point we had both Halloween and Christmas decorations collaborating in a season of celebration across the city.

So as Santa prepares his lists and kids start to make sure they are not on the naughty list, where can you take the kids to get well and truly into the festive spirit and see the brightest lights and even the opportunity to see Santa himself!
