Invite you to explore the world of astronomy with “NARIT AstroFest 2025”, the biggest astronomy festival of the year on National Children’s Day 2025, Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., organized simultaneously at 5 locations: Sirindhorn Astronomical Park, Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province, and the 7th Cycle Birthday Anniversary Observatory, Nakhon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen, Chachoengsao, Songkhla. Enjoy a special round of the full-dome digital planetarium, enjoy walking through the astronomy exhibition, and stargazing through various sizes of telescopes at night. All locations are free to join, with no charge. Each location has interesting special activities as follows:
Sirindhorn Astronomical Park, Chiang Mai: Once a year, there is an Open House activity to open the astronomical technology laboratory. This year, a new zone has been opened. For the first time, children will get to see the space technology laboratory, which is used to test and assemble satellites made by Thais. Be amazed by various prototype innovations from advanced astronomical technology and engineering development, such as automatic telescope control systems, high-precision celestial object tracking telescope bases, all-sky imaging and weather analysis cameras. National Telescope Glass Coating Machine, rub shoulders with real engineers and astronomers in the land of astronomical research. In addition, there is an astronomy zone for children and families, inviting you to create a model spacecraft with the mission to conquer Mars, Mars Landing. Chachoengsao Chalermprakiat Observatory: Invite you to explore and unravel the secrets of astronomy with the activity “What’s in the observatory?” and many fun astronomy activities such as water bottle rockets, space slime, astronomy bingo, be amazed by the astronomy kite festival, challenge your skills with the space spinning top activity, watch the Science Show, in the evening join the adventure in the Glow in the dark land, roast corn and marshmallows in the style of campers, and end the night with the activity of singing a story of stars through the real sky. Songkhla Chalermprakiat Observatory: Bring a full range of activities for children on Khao Rup Chao in the heart of Songkhla. Inventors, get ready to build and send rockets to the moon, compete in rubber-powered airplane races, control robots on the surface of Mars, observe the sun, play astronomy bingo games, and in the Kids Zone, add color to your dreams by learning about astronomy through art.
